Title: Petrol injectors / lpg conversion
Post by: tigers_gonads on 31 March 2013, 16:01:38
The petrol injectors on the 3ltr are blue, the petrol injectors on the 3.2 are grey
Any difference in size / output ?

The manifolds / sandwich plates look the same on both engines so i'm looking to swap these over to save time.

Is that ok ?

TIA

3.0 injectors run at 3.0 bar. 3.2s run at 3.8 BAR IIRC.

As to whether the impedance and flow rate are compatible, I'm not sure. I always use the original injectors from the vehicle, as they are known to work. Introducing more unknowns than necessary during an LPG conversion is not a good idea, IMHO.

Aye the injectors are very easy to swap over. I managed it when I fitted my kit so your be fine.

3.0 injectors run at 3.0 bar. 3.2s run at 3.8 BAR IIRC.

thats the working pressure via the regulator, if i remember if you fit 3.2 injectors to a 3.0 it puts to much fuel in and crates bore wash as theres to much fuel because 3.2 injectors are larger than 3.0.
you can run a higher fuel pressure regulator to improve performance 4bar is good.

The manifolds are the same. The plenum is different. Unsure of the Sandwich plate but not sure why your unbolting it to fit the LPG. How did you manage to break the gas nozzles. I think I've got some spares if you need them.

Keep the 3.2 injectors with the car. Just fit the 3.2 petrol injectors and gubbins to the LPG fanimold.

It might be tricky to pull the injector out, and then fit it to another manifold without damaging the injector o ring seal without damage. "Might". so some silicone lube might help. (I'll just q that up for Esta ::) ;D )
