Title: Not Omega I know but its a Vauxhall..
Post by: acope on 02 April 2013, 11:14:04
Does any one know anything about Corsa`s please.
My Granddaughter has a W reg 1.2 and is having problems engaging gears.
Hard to engage 1st or 2nd and car virtually stalls, and when she selects reverse the car actually goes forward.....
Has anyone come across anything similar , is there a cable or rod linkage operate the box, or could it be the box its self knackered.

thanks in anticipation

Gear linkage worn (known issue on earlier Corsa C), you can get a kit for about 30-40 notes to fix, not a difficult job to do.

As Mark says, linkage is FUBAR. Could just be a pin that's sheared but the repair kit will have everything you need :y

Incidentally... I had this on a Cavalier and fixed it at the roadside with a bolt :-X

Brilliant, thanks guys, much appreciated. :y

Just a thought, would that the kit would be available from an ordinary Vauxhall dealership.

Part number is 93183155 for the repair (plenty on ebay but get a genuine if you can).

Easy enough to fit but you must pin the gear leverl (a drill bit works well for this) and then push the locating pin in on the gearbox.

Fit and clamp up, job done.
