Title: Typical American...
Post by: OmegaAnglesey on 03 April 2013, 03:00:47
Just found this fairly new video on YouTube some little hot shot (probbably still in diapers) pretty much running down the Catera/Omega on everything.. I did I hear him say the Omega is Small and comparing it to a 3 series and C class  :o ::) ;D

Can't see anything wrong with that video, in the US it was a flop and in the market over there it is a small car.  Plus that one seems to be very tired for 71k and he rightly pointed all the faults out.

Oh, and remember that we do have some Americans on the forumas well as one or two who may soon become 'Typical Amercians' ::) :y

Good video.  At least the glove box opened  ::) He was mostly correct sadly, although I doubt if it was a full size spare wheel.
I like the shiny rims, definately a plus point.  :y
Any badly maintained vehicle will exhibit those signs, it's up to people to look after them properly.  :-\
I suspect this one was'nt, thats probably why it went to auction.
It had three keys  :o  how cool is that . . .  ::)

I worked for a company a few years ago that had US Ford Econoline vans and the BING BING BING used to drive me up the pole!!!  >:(  The Omega's "Beeeeee..." is mildly irritating in comparison.  ::)  ;)

my other half's American (don't worry, i'm not going to berate the thread title  ;D). she's southern though and considers people like in this vid as Yankees  that don't know squat anyway  ;D

loved the big dodge that drove past when he had the camera next to the exhaust. twin cab ''side step'' if I've learned anything from Lone Star (my woman)  ;D

I think the centre console area is better than the FL, had to laugh at the 'no panic button' on the key..... :y :y

Looks even more plasticky the American version of the centre console imo.

Aye what is he on about "panic button" ?  ??? ;D

Just watched it,what a gay winker :-*....half of the problem is that if you don't look after something and let's face it that car needed some TLC then it's going to be a shed.He may have pointed out its faults but it seemed pretty obvious that he was biased towards BMW's and Mercs before kicking off...each to his own,but neither of those makes will ever make it on to my drive, and certainly not after watching Wheeler dealers the other night when they bought the BMW M5,the cost of the second hand parts they used were eye watering and made me think that it's not that bad running a 3.2, I know that the Bimmer is faster 0-60 by 1.5 secs but there's hardly any thing top end wise,I agree that the 3.2 perhaps does'nt have the build quality of BMW but for me it's better the devil you know that will still put a smile on your face when you give it the beans :y

now i like american tin and  i  do agree that the interior of a facelift omega is hideous, however the gentleman whinging about it is taking the proverbial, the interior of your typical yank is put together with "building tolerances"ie nearest 1/2 inch. pot and bloody big kettle spring to mind ::) ;D
