Title: MOT rules/brake pipes

Due to a seized union I am having to replace a brake pipe on my BMW, local factor will make one up for me but the routing of it goes down the back of the engine and the brackets are pretty much unreachable to fit it OE style. Can I route it my own way and secure it as I go ? obviously away from and sharp edges or heat!!

Why not buy a cheap (£10) brake pipe flare tool and  a new union and flare the existing pipe?

Or put some heat on the union.

Make sure it is the same length as the original pipe or you could get some very strange brake issues ;)

By what bit tilda?

From my point the flexi was knackered and needed changing but the union wouldn't budge and ended up mangled, also some corrosion where it went through the bulkhead which was hidden by trim meant it would be easier to replace the lot ( 217 cm with some tortuous bends :o)

wouldnt use heat on brake pipes as wont do fluid any good inside, know it will drain out unless crimped but deffo not on my car
