Title: 2.0dti engine swap
Post by: dekra on 13 April 2013, 23:13:25
Hello to all as i am newish to this forum.I used to have a omega 2.5v6 years ago so i am a complete omega fan.Heres my problem.I looking to buy a omega diesel ,and i found one with head gasket gone possibility cracked head its a 2.2dti.So can i replace this engine with a vectra 2.0dti.As the 2.2 here in ireland is over a 1000euro to tax for the year. The 2.0dti would be cheaper and make it a more saleable car when the time came.
What bits have to be changed over and has the vectra engine got stud holes for rwd engine mounts.Thanks.

Correct me if i am wrong.I think the 2.0dti block and head are the same as the 2.2.So if i swap over the 2.2 crank and pistons into the 2.0dti ,then it would be a 2.2dti but with 2.0 engine number on the block.Maybe the best of both worlds. But are the two cylinder heads the same ,camshaft and valve size .Anyone :)
