Title: estate rear wiper not clearing whole swept area
Post by: terry paget on 14 April 2013, 22:50:32
I have a 1998 2 litre estate on which the rear screen wiper works perfectly. On my 2001 2.5 estate I cannot persuade the rear wiper blade to remain in contact with the screen  The spring at the base of the blade seems OK, and the rubber seems free in the holder, but the top of the blade does not remain in contact with the screen as it wipes. What is wrong with it?

You MUST use the original GM wiper blade, that will do the trick. If you look at the GM blade it is very curved compared to other blades, made specificly to fit Omega  :y

Thanks for advice. I have bought genuine Vx blade, fault cured.
I wish I had asked earlier.

:y Glad you have it cured. Funny thing is that nowadays (at least in Finland) the original blade at dealers is superceded by some Corsa/Vectra blade which is NOT suitable for Omega... I have a few times replaced only the rubber to the original blade frame with success.
