Woke up this morning and battery was completely dead.
Called out trusty AA :)
Everything fine, but when you switch off ignition, the radio light stayed on (around power button) and so did the message screen which said date and 'message'

This was draining battery, and has only just started, so to solve it, have pulled the fuse at number 12.
Only problem now is I have no dash, no radio, no fuel gauge.
I only ever saw the word 'message' normally when I used built in Nokia hands free kit, but not used for years, but still installed.
Any Ideas what this could be?
and more importantly, how to solve it :)
Thanks in advance

Disconnect the hands free kit for starters then take it from there ;)

that also come up when traffic master is in operation, id be removing that too as it being phased out

No traffic master on car :)
Anyone think it could be an issue with time relay?

What radio do you have?
I've seen a CCR2006 do this a couple of times. Pull its' standby supply fuse (12, or 13, IIRC) and replace and it goes away again.
Failing that, could well be a faulty phone kit connected to it, as said.
Does the radio turn off when you take the key out?
I don't think it will be the time delay relay.

So that my Battery isn'y draining while im asleep - fuse 12 is OUT, so resetting it doesnt seem to work :(
CCR 2005, yes radio turns off (sound ect), but doesn't go off fully - light still on around on off switch and display stays on forever - not just 4 mins or so after locking
Will have to have a look on this forum to remove Nokia CK hands free kit.

Ignition switch needs cleaning. :y
Look at where you insert your key, it's a round grey plastic piece. When you remove the key, this grey plastic part should pop out by a few millimetres. It probably isn't doing that meaning the ignition is still live.
Try physically removing the key (pulling) as you turn the ignition off which may assist the sprung part to pop out.
A shot of lube should do the trick! :y

Eventually removed the Nokia Car Kit and all works again (well we will see in the morning, but the message has gone) ;)
