Title: Low elec power
Post by: omegod on 24 April 2013, 18:40:10
Righto, battery fully charged ( allegedly), dash lights barely lit and not a sausage of cranking power, headlights etc not even powered! I did have it turning over very slowly but am getting nothing at all!

Can a charger show full charge but the battery is fooked? had a look at what earths I can see and they look ok as do the battery connections.

To me everything points to a flat battery. ;)

Well I will go to the foot of our stairs, battery shows as fully charged but is dead as a dodo!Never seen that before  :-\

Off to halfords for a new one, quite glad really as electrical fault finding would have been a nightmare :o

Quite common ... :)  Charger registers battery VOLTAGE ... so if its got a voltage under no load of 12.7 it shows fully charged .. to work it needs AMPS ...  so, put it under load and the voltage just plummets to almost zero if the battery is FUBAR

All sorted now, battery was 79.90 on the shelf and 55 .00 with trade card.

And now for my next problem......
