Title: Odd noise on starting
Post by: BazaJT on 24 April 2013, 20:49:27
When I start my F/L 3.0 from cold it makes a strange noise for a short while. You can't hear it inside the car,but stood at the front especially with the bonnet open you can.It seems to come from the front nearside corner, and for want of a better description it's a sort of regular whop whop type noise[hope someone knows what I mean there!]As said the noise ceases after a very short while the engine runs fine all the while. Is this something that should be occuring?or is it a sign that something is on its way out?Although it's some years ago now I don't recall my P/F/L 3.0 ever making such a noise,so possibly something fitted to later cars?

Used to recycle exhaust gasses when cold, only there to satisfy nanny state.

Can either unplug or or pull the fuse in the engine bay  :y
