2.6 Elite. MV6, CDX will have HID's, so more of an upgrade, if similar flavour and year ie GLS CD then yes straight swop.

Edit: didn't read post properly, you mentioned HD.

Be aware if you dont swap the levelling and washing, you will likely get an MOT fail now, reqs have just changed.

You will need the lights, headlight washers and pump, front & rear level sensors, self levelling ecu and headlight switch without the manual level control from the donor car.

Put one in to try it the hid unit has 4 connections and the 2.2 only has 3 connections. Connected one to the ballast. Hid working but obviously getting headlight warning light. Can I get rid of it or just ignore the idea. Have waster jets etc connected up.

Have you transplanted all of the part of the system I identified?

It wont be legal  (or pass an MOT anymore) without....

My MOT man says that levelling system must work if fitted.Mine has passed twice with HID,s & washer system, but no levelling. ;)
Unless it has changed and become much more specific since last September ?  :-\

Taken from the tester`s manual

"Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with headlamp washers and a suspension or headlamp self levelling system.

Where such systems are fitted, they must work; however, it is accepted that it may not be possible to readily determine the functioning of self levelling systems. In such cases, the benefit of the doubt must be given."

Ambiguous to say the least. Retrofit GM Hid`s on an Omega and if your manual level control works and washers work (if you fitted them) then I read it as a pass ???

Washer system fitted, levelling no. Was just trying it out, need to know wiring as when I got it connected was a connection short and had a headlight warning appear.

I agree Rob, it says if fitted, so if it's not fitted then it can't be tested and subsequently failed I suppose  :-\. Saying that I took an Astra for an MOT the other day, it's not got factory fitted HID's, although they're in projectors, and have washers, no auto levelling is fitted and it passed without a mention.

You need the plug for the ballast unit + a short piece of loom (piccie). Should be 1 x yellow & 1 x brown. Splice these into the existing wires of the connector going to dipped beam. You also need to replace the HID level motors with yours so you still have levelling control on your headlight switch wheel.

The plug on the 2.2 dipped beam has 3 wires 2 brown and a yellow if I remember without going back to car. I bared the wires on the plug going to the ballast and tried it. light worked but have headlight warning on. can I get it wired without the warning.
