Title: Big Thanks to Marks Hornby
Post by: tunnie on 02 May 2013, 08:44:57
Within 30 mins of arriving he had inspected my failed 2.2 flexi, got the plasma cutter out, removed the old one. Then cleaned up the cut, spot welded replacement in, checked it. Then fully welded it up!  :o

He then also took a look at MotherTs 3.0 inlet manifold, no issues to report there so got some tests to run.

Listened to my 3.2, one failed lifter or sticky lifter. Suggested fully synth and sent me on my way with a set of lifters and leads!

Fantastic. Top guy  :y

Big, big thanks  :y

What it does is turn the compressed air into a super heated plasma (upto 25000 deg C!) which then cuts the steel.

The benefits are that it does not heat the steel up significanlty so distortion is minimised.

Its also very quick and controlable

My ulimate tool would be a light saber, this is as close as I can get at the moment.

I think a light saber would be ace for cutting things, curring openigns in bricks, chopping bits off cars the works....the world needs light sabers.

You just have to be careful with them:

Is the boot of your Jag too long to fit your garage? If so, ask Aaron about his little mod.. Using a plasma cutter, oddly enough. :y

Was that 'No, your garage is long enough', or 'No, you won't let Kevin anywhere near it with a plasma cutter' ::)

Did someone say Curry?

On a separate note I really enjoyed the driving in the 3.2 yesterday, did about 250 miles all in. Various conditions, some reason really started to enjoy it. Might have been fact it does go quite well, especially on empty roads  :-X

Really, really need to gas it!

Really, really need to gas it!

Fixed that for you..

I, on the other hand, am driving a 4 pot today. One that goes a bit better than my 3.2. :D

See 4 pots rock  :D - Although I'd admit mine does carry a little to much weight  ::)

Each job is just so easy, dropping the exhaust down pipe to have flexi replaced, everything so easily accessible and visible.
