ive noticed having to put in about a litre of coolant in about 1100 miles, its had a heater bypass valve, water pump was leaking aswell so these have been done, and still losing it then i had a shufty under bonnet this morning after a run and noticed a drip from the cylindrical shaped thing under the expansion tank, dont know what its called sorry hoping someone on here knows what its called, looks a bit like a idle control valve type of shape, dripping down onto off side chassis rail, thats why not seeing any coolant stains under engine! looks like this is the culprit.

Don't know much about the "Winter Pack" but sounds like the water heater? :-\
-
Part of the "winter pack" and only runs (controlled by climate panel) when the heater bypass valve allows coolant through the heater matrix :y
-
Its the aux. Heater pump found mainly on ex plod cars and as said "winter pack" option on retail cars.dont know what its function is tho.
-
If you press the auto button after switching ign off your heating system will keep the interior warm until the block cools. The function of the aux coolant pump is to keep warm coolant passing through the heater matrix.
