Title: What is this plug for, in buglight/sunroof motor cavity
Post by: humbucker on 04 May 2013, 18:31:30
I was removing the sunroof motor/switch housing from my MFL Elite and noted a white plug strapped to the inside. Not sure what it's for, perhaps one of you recognise it? I've got a factory install phone kit but it's not the CCRT70 or whatever its called, so I wondered if this was for the microphone for that kit?

Thanks in advance!  :y

Anyone?!  :-\

Have you tried to trace it back? It might have been something the previous owner fitted ........  :-\

If it was a late FL, may have guessed Rain Sense Wipers, although think thats a black plug, but on a MFL no idea.  :-\

I'm stripping the loom from a 2001 2.6.CD, hasn't got a sunroof but there is no cable like this in the front Head lining, I've only found a couple of white connectors, boot loom to main loom and in the floor near the B pillars,
So maybe Vauxhall fitted & just not used, does every thing work OK?

Just checked all my pictures of the loom, Its very similar in shape & size to the third break light connection only thats black (2 wire feed) so at a guess I'd say its Vauxhall fitted

Hmmn, curious, but thanks for your input. I have a dealer fit integrated phone kit in the car, perhaps this was a microphone input plug, despite the mic being elsewhere in the car. Perhaps the loom offers a number of different locations for differing driver preference. Will let you know when I get to the bottom of it... trying to resist pulling the head lining out atm!  ;D

CCRT equipped cars have the Mic in the courtesy light.

Couldn't possibly tell you what the plug looks like though.
