Sorry having a thick moment, need to send a Fax to Overseas, can I use a USB 3g dongle?, seem to remember you could do this with the old GSM and GPRS Cards, so in thoery a Dongle should support it , or am I just getting old now.
And no dont have a Fax Machine.

In theory they probably do, at least over 2G. Whether you'll find any software and drivers that support it I don't know. :-\

Just tried a O2 Dongle and a T Mobile one, no joy, then I remembered I have the Hawei (or what ever there called) Mobile Partner installed somewhere, just tried both again, O2 nothing but I can make a PSTN call on the T Moblle stick, so tried a Fax number yep works, can hear it through the Netbook speakers.
Tried using the Win 7 fax thingy, wont dial, seem to remember you have to set it up as a Fax Printer to print and dial the page? so how do I tell windows the Dongle is a printer?
or am I just digging a hole :-\

I'd give up now and ask whoever's still in the dark ages if they have a Telex machine instead. ;)

Does it have to be written on parchment using a quill too?

Ok nearly there, with the Hawei software and the T Mobile HSDPA Dongle, Win 7 creates a Dialer in Control Panel called T Mobile Standard Modem, but it disapears when you close the Dongle Software, which you need to close otherwise it gives a conflict with Win Fax, ie modem already in use. So Ive created my own dialer in Control Panel and left the dial number string out, I can now use Win Fax with this Dialer but Win Fax wants the home Country code as a sender number and then seems to put (+44) or the overseas code in (xxxx) the dialer string on the modem, in other words dont think it likes the brackets. Any ideas.?

may be wrong on this but I had a problem dialling my daughters mobile, which was resolved by dialling with the international code, eg. 44 with no further additions, no plus symbols and no brackets !
