Title: going to change my name to Lucky
Post by: paul.lovejoy on 11 May 2013, 10:35:55
well it just keeps getting better

those of you that know just traded my movano for a trafic after long boring issues with seat ( going to court so it seems)

anyway brought the trafic only a year old 10k miles from a vauxhall main dealer over the internet, when it was delivered back doors were a differnt colour one had been half sprayed also a few scratches. Under the 7 day return policy distance selling etc rejected the van.

eventually they agreed to let nationwide acceident repair do what ever was required approx £1k worth plus vat :o :o fortunatley the vans never been invloved in a major shunt it was just vauxhall touched up the rear door and got the colour wrong.

bearing in mind main reason for all this fuss was you could see a different colour in the back doors so clearly underlined, confirmed to nationwide , spray both back doors :y :y

picked van up today and they have only sprayed 1 door ffs and it was the same door that vauxhall sprayed  :D :D :D looks the same as it did before.

give up, so got to go back during the week and have it out with the estimator and quality manager etc not impressed >:( >:( in fact may take some toys with me next week and throw them out my pram

just out of interest does anyone know what the policy is on spray work ie there was a scratch along bottom panel of van to side nothing serious when the estimator was doing his report he said they would spray the whole panel up to roof line ditto bonnet light scratch across bonet so they would spray the while thing but they havent ok scratch has gone ( think it has been tcut out) but still the odd stone chip.

the vans a high roof vivaro/trafic the work required was spray both rear doors bonnet and 1 side of van total bill £1,116.19 inc vat  paint / mat £350 plus vat labour £530 plus vat roughly

they have definatley only part sprayed 1 rear door touched up/part spray bonnet and lower half of 1 side of the van not the whole side as thney stopped at the drivers door see a diffrent colour there too

Ford are exactly the same :'(

Firm bought a then brand new '08 Tourneo tailgate and all four doors were a different shade. They tried twice to repaint it and it still looks like a patchwork disaster zone ;D

The first excuse they gave is that modern waterbased paints are rubbish ::) the second time they said that the shells are painted upright, whereas the doors are painted lying down, which makes the metal flake sink on metallic paints.

Once upon a time the doors were bolted on before the car was painted. ::)

Who do you get your vans from? Bodgeit, Scarper and Notmyvan ::)

I would suggest only buying a new van, but thinking about it you can't even do that properly ;D  :P  :y

I suspect you're screwed :'( covering their bill is as good as accepting liability for it :-\

Best thing you can do is take the van back, demand a full refund and write off the £1100 against expenses on next years tax return.

its a bit late to take the van back maybe mmmmm or maybe not :y

its all in writing that they were responsible for the bill etc and they were supposed to transfer funds monday, only reason i paid it was i did not have the spare key on me >:( or i would have jusat driven the van away then brought it back when i realised the doors were a different colour again ;D

i would be very suprised if they dont pay, then again i think i have got soft in the head since i got married, its all full of mush now, too trusting by far :-[

Given me an idea now cheers Al :y :y
