Post by: paul.lovejoy on 15 May 2013, 04:40:54
probably the wrong title to put up as the floodgates open

anyway today i have had at least 20 text maybe more from these quick loan sites like payday for some one called Lynne saying she is approved, please call this number etc

is this some sort of scam

Now i have been applying for finance this week but to major companies not these payday type sites

New phone and new to you number?  When I changed phones a couple of years ago I was getting plagued by debt recovery type firms wanting to get hold of the previous user of my number. It's taken a while for them to die down but still get the occasional one now.

You got a block caller option on your phone? I don't on mine but by 'ignore' callers list continues to grow with those ppi claim back cowboys. Best thing is not to answer, I would say.

looks like someone gave your number out as a fake, check your credit report (can't see and issue as its a different name) and contact your phone provider.
