Title: Electric Seat Failure
Post by: Timw976 on 15 May 2013, 06:45:18
Hi All

Hoping someone might be able to help, the electric height adjustment on my drivers seat has stopped working. When I press the button you can feel the motor trying to move the seat but nothing happens.

Any ideas would be gratefully received. At the minute the seat is at its highest setting.....bloody kids!!!!!

Thanks in advance

Tim

sound like you need to take seat out -disconnect battery first and leave car-30mins-airbags ;) mate-if motor working then must be a linkage fault-I don't know much about seat problems -but hopefully someone else will :y

I've had a look but cant see anything!!!! Looks like the passenger seat is doing the same......wonder if they've raised it too far, read something about being able to lower them manually but cant remember how!!!

Try the fix given in the link supplied by pauls in reply #5. It is a 2 minute job & a monkey can do it unaided, I know 'cos I have one!! ;D :y
P.S. As Mr MarksDTM says in the 'howto', you need a 1/4" or 3/8" drive 13mm socket as anything else is too large to fit in the access hole  ;)

mine was stuck for some time until I started rocking the button, and after a short while it freed itself !
