My EML shows 4 fault codes
PO130 02511 Circuit malfunction
PO150 02521 Circuit malfunction
PO430 Catalyst efficency low bank #2
PO420 Catalyst efficency low bank #1
Does anybody know the relevance of these codes and how to fix them? After 12 years has my cat died?

0420/0430 are common .. loads of threads about them .. not "if" they happen but "when" they happen ... :) Nothing to worry about, either reset at regular intervals if you have a code re-setter, move the post cat lambda to after the main cat instead of between the cats, or try a tank of high quality fuel and drive it like you stole it .... doesn't always work but it's fun finding out .. :)
One thing for certain .... its not the cats that have failed, your engine will pass any emissions test with ease .. :)
0130/0150 are more serious ... could be the wires have been knocked of the lambda's .. most unusual for both to fail at the same time ... :(

Thanks for the offer Omegod.
A friend has a snap on solus which has cleared the codes. They didn't come back on, on the drive home. We'll see how long they take to reappear. I'll check the lamda sensors in the morning.
Thanks again for the offer.

As you have already done, clear them, then see if they come back.
Did you note down what the Long Term Trims were before you reset the codes? If no, don't worry, but grab them next time :y

Took your advise Entwood and thrashed it to Manchester Airport and back on Friday (100 miles). So far the EML has stayed off. Fingers croessed.
I don't use supermarket petrol but next time I fiil up I'll try Shell V power.
If the codes come up again I'll make a note of the long term trims.
