Title: Advice needed on a FreeSat HD Receiver please
Post by: Auto Addict on 17 May 2013, 16:58:20
I want to purchase a FreeSat HD receiver to use in France, when we take the caravan over there at the end of July.

I only want to pick up the UK channels, so will any FreeSat HD receiver suffice?

To comply with licence restrictions, the BBC have to run off a transponder with a purposely narrowed footprint. So even for SD, you're going to need a big dish. I would imagine the (seemingly weaker (based on a Sky HD box I was kicking due to HD issues)) HD would be even more problematic.

You're on holibobs, stuff the telly. Its all crap anyway.

keep your eye on lidls as they sometimes sell a portable system that i believe runs off 12v and there prices are usually quite good.
