Not a car, though did look at one today, but the px value on the Jeep was pants...... :'( :'(
Bought a new Lap Top with Windows 8, that is taking some getting used to, I will keep it in ordinary mode I think........ :y The thing I do not really like is the offset key board, as they have the number keys on the right like a grown up computer, but they all did - just use needed..... :y :y

Neither could MotherT, we upgraded her laptop to Win8. Never liked it, found it frustrating to use. Also MotherT is a "prime" Win8 target user, all she does is send a few e-mails, surf the web, basic word processing, nothing geek like to anything to serious.
She now uses a nice shinny new iMac ::)

Suppose I need to update soon, running a 286 chipset, MS Dos 3.2. Wordperfect with a AT Dialer for me emails.

Same just can't get on with win8 tried a few computers at PC world much
Prefer win7 on my Toshiba laptop. If they don't improve win8 my next PC purchase will be a apple computer.

I had a butchers at a new Laptop the other day, look at a HP touchsmart thing. Tidy piece of kit, might get it, touch screen made Windows 8 a lot easier to use.

Win8 blue is in development with more details due to be released in June with the upgrade expected before Christmas. MS have admitted that Win8 has major shortcomings that they need to address. The upgrade will be free. The is speculation that you will be able to go back to the future by booting straight into classic mode and there will be a start button! Insanity that they forced user to do otherwise instead of making it an option from day 1. A bit like the Vista insanity of no compatibility mode and an incompatible internal database so old applications did not work to try and boost MS Office sales!
With PC sales dropping like a stone will it be too little, too late with the PC market now mainly for business use? Virtually all monopolies fail in the long term through a combination of arrogance, customer contempt and being incapable of responding in a timely way to new competition. I see all these traits with Microsoft.
Personally, I think the damage is done with Win8, with many people finding that smartphone or an iPad or Android tablet covers all of their computing needs at home in a much more intuitive way and they won't purchase another Laptop or PC. The vast majority of people at home just want to surf the net, send / receive emails, stream videos and play games.

I looked at that one, but the guy said that it was the wrong processor for my use, more for gaming apparently..... :-\ :-\
Windows 8 is designed for touch screen, I just use it in 'normal' Desktop mode, only a couple of the apps are any use to me, a bit of use and managing to work it all out...... :y :y

Got an early one of those here, (about 4 years old) :y had a processor failure a few months back, so had it rebuilt, with amongst other things, 2TB memory and Windows 8. Works a treat with a decent memory and a recently updated BT tinterweb connection :y

Windows 8 is the best Windows yet, its fantastic. Just the user interface is bloody awful, no matter how much you persevere with it. The shortcomings of the interface definately make it hard to recommend for most. Even if you do have a touchscreen.
I think the total flop of Win RT and WinMo have shown MS they are barking up the wrong tree, and have pissed off buesiness users at the same time.
Blue? Who knows until its announced. I think some areas of the IT media have been implying that what they would like to see are fact. MS need to get My First Desktop into the background, especially for non touch devices. Trouble is, doing so will piss off developers, after MS have virtually insisted that developers should only target what was Metro.
Lets hope they get it sorted, as there still isn't a viable alternative.
As to crApple laptops, I'm not quite gay enough yet.

I'm sure someone like you has a good selection of old shite. I've still got my DOS3.3 disks, binned the old DOS2 ones last year.
Think I've still got images of my old Windows 1 disks somewhere on one of these servers. Now that was a shite OS extension
