IIRC plugs are a couple of quid each with Trade Club
Sounds like they've quoted you for just the belt ...... you need the kit containing the rollers etc :y

Don't have trade club mainly due to none of the VX dealers here accept them.

Sorry if i misse your call. I'm on the workshop counter at the moment and looking after ten techs takes up most of my time.
Best to email at the moment as they will flash up on the PC. Email is: andyclears@drivevauxhall.co.uk.
With any luck we should have a new member of staff in a few weeks, you won't believe how hard it is to fill the job
Cheers
Andy

If your stuck i've got a trade card :y

Drivers side was fine passenger side :o haven't used so many swear words like that in a while ;D
Compared to the 2.2 petrol what a job the V6 is took 2 hours roughly everything in the way. But it's all done now ruining sweet as a nut.. It had NGK R quads spark plugs In it pretty worn .
Aux belt tomorrow if I'm not too stiff :D
Smart car has 6 plugs then ?

1st time I've done plugs on a V6 Omega, the problem was I couldn't remove the wires in the casing above passenger side along with pipes in the way, coil pack stuck, etc. But it's over with now Thank God lol won't need to be done again in my ownership hopefully :o

and there's less 'stuff' on the passenger side of your engine than there is on a none DBW car. ;) ;) ;)

I just love working on my 4 pot, when I had to remove exhaust downpipe for new flexi, all so easy, reach into engine bay to do work, bags of room. Underneath every thing can clearly be seen, nothing difficult to gain access to. Really enjoyable engine to work on, unlike bloody V6's.
Although I did change a DIS pack in less than an hour on MotherT's 3.0 :)
People moaning about Vx prices does make me laugh though, they are actually very reasonable when using Trade club. Have you seen how much Audi parts are :o :o :o

Aye the humble 2.2 is lovely to work on compared to V6s plenty of room, Did the spark plugs not long ago on the 2.2 took 10-15min easy.
VX prices are fine for most things but things like Cam Belt kits are probably best bought elsewhere if you don't have access to TC.
I'd image Audi would be similar to BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc in prices for parts :-\

I think all their prices are very good, £100 now I think for a set of disc's and pads. Most other big cars its £100+ for each disc!
Oil is brilliant value too, around £45 for 20L.
Ok a coil pack for 2.2 was £100, but did last around 120k.
Things like springs I go pattern & few other bits, but mostly genuine as they last so much longer.

Things like springs I go pattern & few other bits, but mostly genuine as they last so much longer.
its ok if you got that sort of money . i dont . like 45 quid for oil that is a joke ;D ;D
A joke? It's for 20L!!
About as cheap as you can get!
for an oil change i wont spend £45 . so wont just spend it on oil :( :(
Who said anything about a change? For £45? ??? Where on earth has that come from?
20L does 4 oil changes on 2.2 ;)
So you consider £12 too expensive for an oil change? :o
its haveing the 45 quid first thats what i am saying :y :y

£15, tunnie, by the time you have bought a filter and some rags, and some teabags and sugar.
The cheapest backstreet oil change is going to be in the region of £40-£50 quid, so you GM Oil/Filters on TC is, as you know, very, very cost effective.
For some reason that I think I've missed, Bigyin has a real issue with GM. Not sure why he drives one :-\

Get a room. ;D :P
On a serious note even the price I paid on eBay wasn't too bad considering its including delivery and VX directly isn't exactly outrageous obviously people who have TC have an advantage and do tend to brag about it often which is a little annoying but if you can use TC in your area good for you :y

I don't mind paying VX prices on the whole tbh but obviously do prefer getting a good deal, I don't really need any major parts now apart from a pulley which i'll try and get from AndyC. :y

Are thems the people who alledgedly pass cloned/pattern parts off as genuine :-\
Changed the Aux belt but have another problem now there's a problem with the aux idler pulley, Best place to buy one (for a 3.2 V6)
If it's just noisy, then remove it. You can then carefully strip it down one side at a time and repack the bearings :y
Got a genuine aux belt for 99p Only took 3 hrs to fit it , stupid engine mount bolt >:(
That's because the engine is the wrong way round ::)

Thats Autovaux. I think LMF clearly state if their parts are pattern. Though their pattern steering idlers are made of cheese.

sadly not on everything.......and if you get a fault with say an engine sensor, they want it back for testing (not good on crank sensors as you are left with a bloody great big hole) and take a bloody age to respond once they get it.
Much better parts suppliers out there
-
Looking at LMF website prices , dont think ill be ordering much at all ::) :(

Ive only had 1 problem with autovaux, and they sorted within 48 hours, all monies repaid, and new part foc next day delivery.

75p+vat =90p each. So 16 O rings cost £14.40. meaning the sealant only cost you 50p plus vat :-\
Which I doubt...

Worth giving breathers and throttle body a full clean while there, when putting it back together, double check the half moons are seated right at the back of the head & sealed well to the cam cover. :y
I'd also leave it for a while before running it up to full operating temp, start it, to check, but don't let it get to normal temp.
