right i am just about to put these 3.2 manifolds on my 3.0 but there are pipes on the 3.0 ones but not on the 3.2 no idea if i can put the 3.2s on now
-
H, sorry what pipes are you referring to :y
-
Guessing SAI pipework
-
not sure but its aluminium pipes going into both manifolds two outlets on manifold into one pipe then go's round front on engine
-
SAI system. Rip it out, not needed
-
Agreed.
I have fitted the 3.2 manifold to my 2.5.
It is important to get the correct manifold gaskets for the 3.2 as the standard 3.0 ones will allow a blow at the mating face. You can also lose the Y shaped pipework from the front of the engine that connects to the now missing pipes.
You will also need to unplug the electric SAI motor - it's bloody loud once the pipework is gone!
-
what is this sai and what does it do
-
Secondary Air Injection.
It blows clean air into the exhaust manifold, presumably to reduce emissions.
It's crap though, and you won't miss it once it's gone.
-
.... and what does it do
just there to appease tree huggers ::) ::) ::)
-
what other bits do i need to remove? aside from pipes from manifolds
-
the fuse for it and if you like the pump from under the front n/s bumper, power to wieght and all that
