it looks like an auto tensioner to me but someone on a Hyundai forum (the car its attached to) said it had two bolts and one was a slider and you moved the PAS pump up to tension it. :-\

which car/engine?
-
cheers symes... the pic is from a Volvo but its similar to the Hyundai coupe (apparently)...my mates car Hyundai coupe :y
-
Is the arrowed one sprung? If not, its likely to be tensioned manually (by moving a component, usually alternator)

Agree with TB-however pm me and I find out specific from my file-will need year/model/engine size ;) not going to break rules ok :y

ok cheers tb.... I don't know yet. its a mates car he wants me to look at. I looked on google and the Hyundai forums but not much at all :'(
some one posted this pic and it looks as if it would be a spring loaded one.... but as said someone mentioned the two bolts/sliding tension part.
