Title: Not a tourist attraction for vertigo sufferers
Post by: Rods2 on 29 May 2013, 18:28:09
A 1ft wide wooden walkway built 700 years ago on a vertical cliff face on a Chinese mountain. It is a popular tourist attraction. I haven't got the head for heights for this but is it one you would like to experience?

wouldn't trust a week old "made in china" chain - let alone a 700 y/o one.  ;D

Blimey.

We had a thread about a year ago on the forum where a similar pathway but perhaps not so high at El Chorro, Southern Spain (about 60 miles from us) was featured.

The Utube clip showed a (nutter) fellow running the Kings Walkway without a safety line and jumping the sections that had already fallen away.

They are spending 8million euro doing it up!

Here is a clip I could find with my pathetic Internet connection for a flavour. The running one is far better.

China is polluted enough as it is without STEMO and his dodgy sphincter!  :o

I think this is the video link you are looking for at 1hr 42 mins long, you have plenty of time to follow the camera looking down.  ::) :o

I think I will pass this one by as a holiday jaunt.

If China is a bit far for STEMO, he could try this closer to home version, but with a non-existent path in places and his dodgy sphincter, anybody below will think a massive eagle has just been on a bombing run.  :o :o :o :P :P ;D ;D
