ok was lookin on here .and found somone say that at the back of the 2.2 engine was coverd in oil.and he got a reply sayin could be the sump breather blocked.when i bought my 2.2 the guy said he had a new rocker cover gasket put on.no proof but if there is a breather how easy is it to get to and is it easy enough to clean out.if anyone has done this or can help with pics much appreciated :)

cheers robg will have a look into that .fingers crossed it aint a rocker cover gasket.allready replaced my sump as it was rotten grrrrr lol

Put your hand behind the cam cover at the rear of the block, feel for any oil seeping from the gasket or the half moons at the back.
If a non genuine gasket was used, quite probable it's failed. They are often very poor fitting and too hard, it's a dead easy job to replace though :y

yeh will most def have a look.when i bought it he said it was done.but after sittin and reading some reciptes.i find one for a gasket that was returned lol.so now unsure of if it has or not.i will get my daughter to do it for me.is it just a case of remove the plug leads and bolts and its off or more.aint done one on a vauxhall before. :)
