Title: Air Bag Warning Light
Post by: m.ian on 05 June 2013, 06:48:21
After removing the drivers door card the air bag warning light has come on.
As there is no air bag in the door, is this connected or do I have another problem?

did you unplug the door connector with the ignition turned on...? i had this problem with my old 2.5 elite, i was trying to fix a window problem and disconnected the door plug with ignition turned on thus ending up with the airbag light on :'( :'(

There's no air bag in the door, but he sensor for the side airbag in the side of the seat is, it's at the rear of the door at the bottom. You've disturbed the wiring for it & then turned the ignition on if all was well before hand.

You need someone to turn to warning light off for you, the SRS is the only warning light that doesn't self re-set after the fault has been fixed.

Looks like your car has side airbags. (just checked, its a W plate so will have) You either had the ignition switched on when disconnecting or switched it on whilst disconnected, hence the airbag fault showing.

The door has impact sensors within detecting sudden compression of the panel which activates the side airbags on the seats.
