for all you bikers on the forum ,i have just heard the terrible news that robert dunlop has been killed at the nw200.one of my great heroes along with brother joey.the end of a racing dynasty.they dont make them like that anymore.
-
Sorry to hear that, i remember seeing Joey's Mum on telly after he died....hate to think what the poor woman is going through now :(
-
very sorry to hear that news as you say the end of a racing legacy... :'( :'(
-
OH NO!!!!!!!!!! That's Awful!!!!!! The Dunlop brother are both gone.
I've still got the MCN when it announced that Joey was killed. He was my hero and I was lucky enough to meet him a few times.
Your title is correct...a very sad day indeed :'(
-
still got that mcn myself paulus, one day i will show it to my grandchildren and tell them about what it was like when we had real heroes in the old days .joey was a very shy man who never had any concept of his own fame and often went to extraordinary lengths to help people who needed help.a great rider and a great human being.

very sad news for all us bike riders and followers of motorsport on the forum. sad loss. :'(
-
It is certainly very sad, with the only meagre consolation being he died, as did his brother, doing the thing he loved. :'( :'(
RIP :'( :'(

Still got the on board video somewhere of Joey doing a lap of the I of M TT with him commentating, scary stuff..
-
every time joey went to the island,he wouldnt as much as sit on a bike until he went to fairy bridge and spoke to "the little people"and asked them to look after him. a very old fashioned superstitious irishman.

roberts son raced in the same race that his dad had been practising for today(250) and won the race.
