Title: Omega V6 timing kit and the DVD
Post by: frenchtony on 10 June 2013, 11:22:31
Hi
following advice here I ordered up the timing kit and the DVD, my omega is a late model with the later engine.

The kit I have is the continental CT990 K2. On the DVD it is said that the late backing plate should have 01 on it, my has 6B (or possibly 89) in the front centre  between the two mounting holes, am I looking in the wrong place? there are a load of numbers on the back ?

I'd like to get this right before I take it to pieces!! I live in France and its a long way to get parts changed at anything like a reasonable price
my VIN is WOLOVBM6921046596
engine 08645562

Thanks
Tony

Probably "EB", early backing plate. Just swap over the pulleys/tensioner, putting the new pulleys/tensioner on the old backing plate

thanks for the reply, it's definitely not an E there is a circle so it's 9 or 6, I can see that one pulley is easy to unbolt, the other has a locknut with the allen key adjuster, is it also removable?
Thanks

I asked the same question for my 2.6.

6B is OK.
