Although, for the op, it should be said, there have been several occasions where people have signed up, purely with the intention of getting free advertising, and then stitching members up or ripping people off.

With a minimum post count a think the idea is a level of trust is present above that point of 250 posts, as they are likely to stick around, get involved, and not behave like a toss pot for instance.

The down side is, genuine members suffer. Such as yourself for example.
