Hope someone can assist as I am not getting much joy on web.
I have Freesat HD and BT Infinity. Having BT Infinity means I can now get BT Sport at little cost but apparently the package comes with Freeview or Youview - delivered via aerial. So it appears that BT Sport will be delivered via a device but not sure if it is a separate BT Vision box or they will enable this via the Youview or Freeview box that they will supply.
Is anyone into this latest development yet - I think it launches on 1st August?

As you via Radio Waves, so will probably be on one on the Freeview channels and decoded by the BT box.

If I remember correctly, I had a contact about BT sport....and I am pretty sure it said that Sky customers could get it. I am assuming that would be via satellite and not added equipment. :y

So if it comes via satellite, maybe it could be got that way on Freesat
Probably talking a load of twaddle ;D ;D ;D ;D

Found this....
Getting BT Sport: Freesat
Freesat
Status: Not available unless you have BT Broadband. This will be a separate arrangement and nothing to do with Freesat.
Price: Free via your BT Broadband connection.
If you have Freesat, but have a BT Broadband connection, you will be able to access BT Sport 1, 2 and ESPN via btsport.com and via a mobile/tablet app. See “Apps & Online” section.
If you have another broadband supplier, BT is currently not offering the service to you.
Freesat itself does not offer pay TV channels.

I have a funny feeling that I will end up with having to ditch freesat or have a Freesat box for everything apart from catch up and BT sport which will be delivered via the Box that BT will supply - Freeview or Youview. So messy - will probably have to ditch Freesat.

hmmm - after discussion with Humax and BT not a lot of progress. BT say they can deliver BT Sport via FreeSat with a viewing card (which I do not have) - Humax (makers of my Freesat box) say they can't - the viewing card part of their systems is for TopUp TV, Sky Sports etc.
Back to drawing board

The right arm does not know what the left arm is doing....ironically I was on the BT site for something else, and found the statement...BT sport is only available on the Sky platform satellite system at the moment!! :y
My son has had the same problem with infinity. He was told adamantly by one BT person, he could not have infinity. After a few rants and raves, he spoke to someone else, who said he could have infinity with no problem!!!!! >:( Its now up and running :y
I wish you luck on your mission, my friend :P :y

BT have been quite clear.
Sport will be delivered encrypted via Astra for a fee, as its encrypted, it will require a viewing card.
For BT (Retail) broadband customers, it will be delivered free via IPTV (streaming over the internet) to either a PC, or to a special BT specific youview box.

Thanks for making it clear. The knowledge I am short of is the use of viewing cards with Humax but as Humax were not forthcoming with assistance I may as well move to Youview I think = 1 redundant/back up sat dish and freesat box

If its an Internet connected Humax, I'm sure it won't be long before an enthusiast ripes the BT specific parts out of a BT YouView (Humax ;)) box, and retrofits to a non BT Branded Humax, to stream straight to the device.
