Hi
In the BIOS make sure it is set to boot from CD/DVD, then put your XP disc in the CD/DVD drive and then reboot. You will get a message saying press any key to boot from CD, press any key and follow the on screen instructions.

If ya gonna reinstall XP then if you boot it of the XP CD, format the HD is part of the setup :y
Otherwise boot it off a DOS floppy disk and type 'format C:'

Do plenty of research - as once you start the process, there's no turning back...

I just unplugged & threw it in the draw in the end (outa sight etc).
It just forgets where it is-i can be surfing for a few hours/mins, click back & its lost the BB connection & the only way of sorting it is to switch it off & do restart >:( >:(
I'm hate the damn things, too abstract, clicking away doing things & it don't tell you >:( :(
