Blatted up horseshoe in Goldie - 4 up, with luggauge - on the way to North Wales. Turned round, and did it again, before heading off round Bala lake and onwards to Butlins ;D. That was the only bit of journey since the end of the Telford motorway that wasn't crammed with traffic.

My mum loved that car, she was cross when I destroyed it  :-[

Done some calculations... Trying to bore myself to sleep..  :-\

168miles exactly traveled, 5.4 Gallons of petrol used.. So that's 24.5 Litres of fuel used at roughly in cost 140.0p a Litre of fuel that works out at 31.1mpg and the total cost in fuel used £34.38 .. Presuming I've calculated this correct.  :-X ;D

Should have added, this was with air-con on the whole journey and widows closed, tyres around 30psi. 3 quarters full of petrol 25miles into the run.

Is my calculation of 31.1mpg accurate ? It's hard to believe it did that much tbh.

Sound about right to me, that's around 20 pence per mile running cost. I like to get my 2.2 down to around 11 pence a mile  :)

3.2 can be quite economical if driven well and you think ahead, this was my record:

So far I'd say the 3.2 isn't as heavy on the wallet as I'd thought it would be very similar to the 2.2 just that the 2.2 being the GLS an all I can't calculate the mpg and cost that well but going by the old fashioned fuel needle it's close, and I wasn't going Sunday driver speed's either (well not all the way  ;D) :y

That's good that tunnie, was that mainly dual carriageways or motorways ?

Motorway/Dual Carriageway run, normally only get about 27 out of it over the course of a tank.

Pretty good that  :y

Mainly A and B roads I have to use up here, nearest motorway around 110miles away nearest dual carriage way around 20 miles away.

High revs and heavy braking is what kills it, I find just keeping speed same and carrying it through roundabouts ect. Like on the A4 near here, instead of heavy gas to lights and brake, then go again, I just ease off good distance before so I don't come to a full stop  :)

Sure your display is properly programmed - GM put a lower limit of 7.1mpg on the display so as not to scare people ;D

Yep my mistake must have been looking at something else  :-[

Tested it today sports mode and the kickdown switch floored it stopped at around 7. Something couldn't keep an eye on it at those speeds on the twisties ;D

Can't say I use the manual 1,2,3 gears... What's the performance difference by putting in second with sports then surely not faster than in Auto with sports on with kickdown switch floored  :-\ will just have to give it a go sometime then  :D
