Title: All set for the winter
Post by: Elite Pete on 10 November 2006, 08:51:47
Well thats me done. This week I have changed the engine oil and filter, fuel filter, cabin filter and air filter. In the last couple off months I have fitted a new battery, replaced the anti freeze and had a couple of new tyres. I did want to change the gearbox and diff oil but the wifes Rover diesel exhaust started blowing this week so I thought while im replacing the exhaust I might as well add a few BHP and bought a decat pipe as well, what a difference. So thats it, me done  ;)

Similar here, except that air & cabin filters responded to the Henry quite well so didn't replace them.  Cleaned leaves out of scuttle.  Rotated and balanced tires.  Haven't touched wipers, battery or fuel filter.

Still need to sort mine... Im too lazy :(

list to do:

1) Coolant flush and change (have 5ltrs of AF waiting)
2) Oil change & filter
3) Fuel Filter
4) Air Filter / Pollent Filter
5) Sort out Air-Con
6) Actually get round to fitting the ABS unit I got from RMCB waaaaay back...
7) Investigate the wobbly vibration above 50mph when accelerating (stops when i lift off the gas) probably related to a suspect 'loose' diff which drury lane pointed out to me... is catching the OS rear abs sensor but it wobbles...
8) Buy wooly mittens and a bobble hat

Mine is hopefully ready. 2 new tyres, oil changed and new filter(twice) air and pollen filters, new wiper blades and new windscreen. Done the cambelt, water pump(antifreeze at same time) and rocker gaskets.

MOT next week so the list may get bigger after that :-?

Mine needs a 80k service in a few k's  :(
Not sure wether to have the cambelt/etc done at the same time, it had a new water pump fitted a 50kish miles, vx dealer put a new cambelt on at the same time......but did they change the tensioners as well? dunno.....so just for piece of mind i'll more than likely get it all done.

Mine also needs new wipers......does any one know if the new 'flat' type of blade sold by vx dealers will fit an omega?

Mine gets the full TLC every July, and an additional oil change in December. For this December I am also planning a gerabox ATF change (don't think I'll bother with the diff). Problem with servicing in December is that it is b****y cold and the day is very short - not simple when you'r working in the street!

At least we get that warm feeling that ours are genuine.  Or is that just because I've pissed me pants?
