I konw it would cost loads and need upgraded parts and what not but could you fit any kind of turbo to a 2.5 V6 mig?? Shoot me if im being silly :y
-
The police had a few done over in Ireland, kind of brought the performace back in line with a normal MV6 once carrying all the gear from what I understand
-
Yep, was very low pressure. I think Courtney Turbo did the work.
-
They managed to do it to one of these so i dont see why its not possible as theres more room under the hood of a miggy

The reason it was not done more was that the engine design itself does not respond well to turbocharging.
What Courtney did was basically copy what Saab had tried with the lump, ie applying a low pressure turbo to improve low down torque.
Alas the end result was the same, engine with a short lifespan! :(
I gather it is to do with there being insufficient cooling around cylinder no.6 in particular when you bolt the turbo on.
I do know that the idea was quickly dropped by GM and I believe Courtney will no longer do it either.
Now adding a supercharger on the other hand.... ;)

I know it would cost loads and need upgraded parts and what not but could you fit any kind of SUPER CHARGER to a 2.5 V6 mig?? Shoot me if im being silly ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y

Or if you dont need the power all the time then what about a NOS Kit.
As a matter of interest has anyone ever fitted a NOS Kit on a V6 Miggy.

Upgrade the rods, start with a 3.2 ideally (steel crank so stronger), main studs, a few mods to the cooling system (not to difficult apparantly), lower the compression..............bolt on a blower......

Not a v6 but ive got one on order for my 2.0lt so when it gets here i'll let everyne know.

I'm tempted for NOS when TLGPing and towing, is this evil?

Looking forward to reading the results.
Hope you take plenty of pics of the intall. :y

Any idea on what sort of power you might expect to get out of a 3.2 with this work done and a decent blower bolted on?
::)

I dont know if the 3.2 lump will give these increases but i was loking into super chargers a while back for a v8 conversion and most of them sugested a 30% increase in bhp and a 50% increase in torque but that does depend on what type of blower you want.

This doesn't sound too clever. Would adding a Supercharger decrease the lifespan of the engine too or is that less problematic if done to a 3.2 properly?

Supercharger sounds fun
