Y188NFA 2.2 petrol manual
Trying to change the oil pressure warning light switch. I have found it above and behind the oil filter. Access is awful. Hexagon is 24mm. How do I get a spanner on it? Has anyone done it?

Tried a Crow Foot Spanner?
-
No, haven't got a 24mm crow's foot spanner. I've never seen one. Good idea, though. It might not go in between the switch and the top of the filter housing. Haynes says on the V6s the switch is at the front. Best place for it, changing it would be easy there.

Remove oil filter?
-
Removing the oil filter won't help. I am considering removing the alternator. I need access from above the oil filter; in the way are the alternator, the loom and the loom support bracket. What a nuisance. The oil filter has a cooling coil at the top and two hoses to it, which the 2 litre does not have. It may be easy on the 2 litre. Haynes only gives it 2 soanners.

Mine was leaking a few weeks ago - got it on my mates lift and used a long extension + long reach socket, from the back of the engine - bit fiddly but easy done

Thank you, Philbutt. Nipped out to Halfords for a 24mm deep socket, they had one. Removed old switch, replaced with new. Job done.
Thanks again.
