Title: Maidstone to Monaco Banger Rally

My mate Jim and some friends are entering the Maidstone to Monaco Banger Rally, hoping to raise funds to help build a pre-school in Uganda.  :y 

The event takes place in September and will take 4 days to drive to Monaco.  You're not allowed to spend more than £350 on your car and it has to be safe and road legal.  If anyone has a suitable Banger that they are thinking of scrapping around September time with a bit of tax and MOT, then get in touch and maybe a deal could be done.  Anything would be considered, but a diesel Omega would be great!!  :y

I'm sure it will be a lot of fun, but the bottom line is that it is all about raising money to help kids in one of the poorest countries in the world!  :)  Many Thanks!!  :y :y :y

Don't have an appropriate car to offer,however you've got to admire the banger rallyists who set off for far flung places in cheapo vehicles in aid of charity.Got to be a few laughs to be had along the way.

Another friend did the Bamako (Mali) Rally a few years ago in a £500 Golf, which he said was fantastic.  Highlights included camping on deserted beaches in Western Sahara and at the end in Bamako driving on through the desert to Timbuktu!  :y

He raised quite a lot of cash for Help the Hero's and what's more remarkable is that my friend is a paraplegic and confined to a wheelchair!!!  :y
