Title: Clearing fault codes

Hi all,

1, 3, 5 coil packs gone up the swanny. After doing the pedal trick its reporting random misfire and a misfire on pot 5. If I change the coil pack will this error code clear by itself or do I need to get a diagnostics unit on it to clear it. The engine management light isnt on but did flash when at high revs.

Engine is the Y26SE btw.

IIRC, misfire ones do not clear by themselves.

Next development, changed coil pack, runs a treat, did the pedal trick to check for fault codes and it now flashes continuously. Is this normal? ???

Well, obviously the misfire ones do clear pretty quickly then ;D

I'd love to get a Tech2 on that to see if the codes are still there, but not appearing in pedal trick, if ever you pass Brackley (or MK on weekdays)

I did disconnect the battery tho for about an hour so maybe this clears it? ???
