Title: Yatour and NCDC 2015
Post by: thonik on 28 June 2013, 09:29:30
Hello!
Sorry for my english :-)

Did anybody try to connect Yatour unit to ncdc 2015? I've tried to understnad what model of Yatour can be used with NCDC 2015 but I don't know what type of CD-changer connector this ncdc 2015 has.

So can anybody provide info about CD changer connection? Can I replace Cd Changer with Yatour unit?

Thank you!

Is Yatour an iPod type interface? If so, I'm not aware of any being compatible.

The NCDC2015 uses a Philips CDC3 CD Changer, BUT runs it in a different, proprietry mode, making it incompatible with CDC3 compatible stereos.

As far as I am aware, Yatour is not compatable with any of the NCDCxxxx models

well, as I understand, CD should have interface to connect to CD changer. If it has it - there is a chance to connect Yatour to car radio as cd changer.

Yes, there is an interface and it uses a very old protocol. The reality is that the software developers are not going to waste time trying to get MP3 connectivity into a 20 year old car when there are so many more profitable and newer cars yet to research.

Worse than being old, its also not that common, unlike the CCR600 -> CDC3 protocol. Hence, not worth anyone's while.

Ive always wondered if its do able to replace the CD Drive with a Hard Drive and then emulate it as a CD Player? but guessing the Control and Interface Board will be having none of it.

Thats exactly whats being done on the modern setups  :y

Theoretically achievable on the Omega, but don`t wait for anyone to do it for you, they wont -

There is no money or demand here on a 20 year old motor, although if there are enough of you wanting this, then you can get a list together and approach a developer - 1,000 sales may get them to consider it, and 10,000 sales may get them to look at it seriously. Thats the sort of figures and upfront costs you would need to get these sort of things moving.

not happenning is it?  :-X
