In the guide, it suggests the old cartridge case is held in with a hollow bolt requiring EITHER a 27mm socket OR a 12mm hex bit.

Is it one or tother depending on year/engine etc, or can both be used to remove any housing?

Mine has a 12mm hex hole in the centre, (which I don't have...yet), but couldn't see whether the outside of the hollow bolt was hex shaped or round :-\

To answer my own question...

Late 3.2s require a 12mm hex to undo the retaining bolt :y
