Title: Autel Maxiscan MS509 code reader
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 05 July 2013, 10:54:58
I'm on the brink of buying one of these jobbies from Amazon direct for £31.50 inc P+P.

However, it seems that the market is flooded with fakes that don't work as they should.

My question is this ......how can I tell a fake from the genuine item before putting my hand in my pocket?

Are there any obvious signs?.

You can`t, and as that model is now obsolete you`re better of getting something like this

Thanks, Rob. :y....£89 for the genuine article is a far cry from £31.50.

The alternative is within my financial reach though. I'll hunt around and see if I can source it any cheaper. :y

Wow, thanks Manta, that's some offer. However, I'm minded to go with the suggestion that Rob G made and go for a new one.

It's good to know that the unselfish OOF spirit lives on, helping impoverished Omega owners to keep these ageing metal dinosaur's on the road. :y :y :y :y

Thanks again. :y :)

No worries, the offer is there if you change you mind. It is about 18 months old and looks brand new, used twice.

All the best.

Okay, you've convinced me Rob......but only If Manta will take £10 for P+P and his time. I'll PM him once he reads this.
