As title.
Turns over strongly. No ignition lights. So can't pedal trick.
Will not start.
Thinking immobiliser. :(
-
Key been apart recently?
-
Yep, new battery yesterday.
Chip still present and correct. And I drove it here this morning.
-
fuses---maybe?

Fuse #15
-
Rob wins.
Replaced it with 27
Engine running. :y
-
no--I said fuses :y :y :y :y
-
Short on heated seat loom?
-
no--I said fuses :y :y :y :y
Bit of a generalisation there :) Omega`s have over 30 fuses ::)
-
yes but every miggy owner should know where the important one are :y especially when the vx fuse boxs are sh**

Really? Since when? I think they are rather bullet proof, only issues i've had is with a shorted power loom for heated seat blowing a fuse. Across all 4, and combined 300k+ all been faultless ???

Why didn`t you state fuse #15 then :-X ;D
-
I have had fuses fall out :o :o understeering wheel :o contacts were loose---ended up doing all of them :(
-
Rob wins. Op's decision is final. :P
But thanks Symes too.
I should have known tbh. But you know what I'm like with electrics. :(
But I am now home, had a shower, and enjoying a Beer in the garden. Cheers. :y

Seems you've been somewhat unlucky mate - I've had quite a few Omegas and never ever seen that issue :o
-
Nope, me either on 5 Omega's
I must be lucky ;D
-
mine was absolute pain--previous owner was a numpty--all sorts of electrickery faults when i got it---the lpg wires were all just twisted together and some were covered in sellotape :o :o have to admit--this only miggy i had were you go out and strange electrickery issues would occur---reckon baboon let loose on it at some time :(
Glad you got car started--however wonder why fuse went--wonder if Tunnie correct----as said had them fall out--but not blow ------yet--however never say never eh mate :-\
-
Had a thought this morning, seem to remember a fuse blowing on an omega of mine. :-\
But can't remember, where, which omega, or indeed what fuse. It was at an Oof meet though, so had uncle TB to fix it, what ever it was.
-
But why did 15 blow.
Iirc it did fire briefly, then cut out. Its done this a couple of times but didn't blow a fuse though.
-
could it be connections on starter? or earths?
-
Might be worth checking the earth strap I guess. They tend to rot where it rests on the under tray.
-
As Tunnie mentioned, check feed to driver`s heated seat for any chaffing
-
Right, bloody things popped again.
Is this a seat out job. In the seat, or feed to the seat?
What's it chaffing on do we know?
The heated seat is buggered in the seat back anyway. After many attempts to fix it. Btw

Cable lives behind one of the seat motors so tricky to spot the damage

Seat is out of Tunnies car. LD said I was mad swapping interiors.
Assuming it's that
Of course.
-
Use car for a while with heatpad plug disconnected. If no more fuse blowing, problem found
-
Would the dash switch need to be on, heated seat in use?
Just asking ready for the morning.
-
Plus, I could use the mv6 seat for a while.
-
If leaving existing seat in, unplug heatpad connector under seat. Ideally would be more prudent to remove seat and give all wiring a thorough check. Unlikely to be a fault with actual heatpads, strong probability that one or more of the wires have chaffed to expose copper core
-
I have fitted the mv6 seat so I can repair the Elite seat later.
Fault is exactly as described. Seat upside down, follow the heated seat loom from the back until it disapears under the side frame next to another loom that also leads to the same place into the heated seat control unit.
The conduit had been cut through along with the insulation to reveal bare copper touching the side frame. The bit if tape vx fitted to cover the edge had unfolded itself out flat to leave the metal bare, which then cut through the wire when the seat is occupied.
I have to say, I find it disgracefull a fault like this can cause the engine, and hence pas and brake assistance to cut out.
-
But thanks to Oof it's been a short lived issue.
Cheers all. :)

During my original fault finding I was surprised that fuse 15 supplied so many different things, when I think some of them (especially the heated seats) should be on there own fuse..
