Yep ... it's gotta be a 3.0 24v job ... IMHO! :y

The manual Senator box isn't a nice experience apparently  :-\. An esteemed ABS member converted an auto to 3 pedals, and the converted it back to a proper 2 pedal car!  :y :y

Ohh  :(

Omegatoy reported easily 35mpg average+ from his manual Senators.

That said the Omega manual experience is not the best, but I'm so used to it now  ;D

 .....

Hardly a balanced argument from Graeme re manual boxes  ::) ....... he's as obsessed with them as Stuart G  ;)  ;)  ;)

I really don't understand why people continue to knee themselves in the chin with a manual. :)

The only slight irritation with the auto is the delay in pick up applying power at the apex if your really on it. Oh, and not being able to blip the throttle on down changes. Mmmm and maybe only having 4 gears.

Which by no means justifies an omega manual.

Top gear ratio probably won't be that much different in either. Manuals have thier place on the road, but some are just obsessed with them & 'want to be in control' whether suitable for that particular type of car or not.

A bit like lowered 'sports' suspension on exec type cars  ::)  ::)  ::)

Utterly ill informed view of course, especially given the hopelessly soft suspension on this particular top of the range model. ;D

I must try to find time to swap my car's rear bushes for the poly bushes. It surprising how you notice the difference when you get back in a car you don't drive very often ...... it's all over the place  :-[

I agree, much too high and that would put me off ;)

It is in Glasgow as well, so far too far away to even view, and in addition I do not like the look of the rear arch in the shot of the offside.

However, although I went for a 3.0 Senator when I bought one, I remember that the motoring press at the time of their launch reckoned the 2.5 was the better option in terms of power v. weight ratio ;)

The very fact that you can see a rear wheel arch on a Senator is a bonus ........  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

most have dissolved years ago  :y  :y
