Title: omega eating tyres PLEASE HELP
Post by: w334e on 14 July 2013, 15:15:29
Anyone know were i can take my car in Northern Ireland to get the lining and camber settings sorted on my car.
when i bought car i was already lowered and needed a set of tyres as insides were baring wire so i put another set of alloys i had on to buy me a bit of time,
2 months later got tyres for my elites and wen i was taking of the ols set i was surprise to see these tyres were baring wire also (these tyres were very good wen put on just 2 months prior)
I took my car to ww tyres in omagh and they would not do the work as my car was too low to get on the ramp and just ignored my request to put down planks or something to get it up the ramp.
the lining is defo tow out too much
the rear wheels seem to have more negative camber than the front. inside of rears wore away and same on front.

can someone please point me to a company or person they know that can sort this out

i dont want to rise it as think it looks good the way it is

Can't help with Northern Ireland and geo companies.

But if its that low, they may not be able to achieve the correct settings. In fact I'm sure they won't on the rear, as I know it won't take more than 20mm lower than stock before the settings are out of range.

How low is it? Measuring from top of wheel arch to floor through the wheel centre.

You may need to refit more sensible or stock suspension.

Ps you need somewhere with a hunter hawk eye or similar, for full geometric set up. As you may be aware...?

A phone call to wheelsinmotion.co.uk couldn't hurt, of only for the correct settings. ;)

It's a compromise ::) you either have a stupidly low car that you can't actually drive or you have tyres that last more than a month. Simples :y
