Try wire-brushing the reluctor ring

Ecu aside, I thought the abs system was almost bomb proof on omegas. :-\

Unless its been damaged....?

Not bomb proof. I have has four failures. Two were ECU, one was moving eluctor ring, and one is still not resolved.

I had a rear wheel sensor pack up about a year ago.epleced it with a spare I had and its been fine ever since.
Usually the ECU,but can occassionaly be a wheel sensor. :y
Cant remember if the light went out when I fitted the sensor or if I had to turn it off tbh. :-\

Sometimes get cable damage. Yet to see a faulty sensor or failed reluctor ring on an Omega (unlike some other cars, where reluctor ring splits are common.

To the OP, what year is it?

Should go straight out.  Even before replacement, it should be out until you start moving fast enough for the ECU to decide that the signals its seeing are not plausible.

May well have been the case. It was definitely the sensor itself at fault though, rather then wiring etc.
