I am taking this computer back >:(
Everytime I click onto a webpage link Internet Exporer has stopped working......
>:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Tell them to shove it where the sun dont shine ::)

Is this a Vista problem, we both tend to find that we loose connection for no apparent reason, not together so not our connection. Also I find that when accessing some links on oof my laptop goes into freeze mode and I have to switch off and then on again.
-
My internet is still on but as soon as I have clicked onto a link i get a box " Internet Explorer has stopped working"
I have gone into the solutions section and i have around 21 problems all the same thing.... there is a solution button so i press that and there ain't no solution at this time >:(
My sister has Vista so i asked her to click onto the very same link and she gets straight onto the webpage.......
I have done the windows update thing but its all up to date ..........

Same here. Was getting really >:( >:( with it the other night so slung it in a draw & watched tv instead. This problem just started to happen about two weeks ago. Very frustrating >:( >:( >:(

Jaime reckons Vista is OK - get him to sort it ;D ;D
I'm not saying anything but XP Pro and IE 6
-
Mine is the same, Im useless with computers but I think its a security setting. You click on certain websites and a box comes up with Internet explorer has stopped working, then another box with restarting and you end up with your home page. Its very annoying >:(

Download firefox instead :y

Download IE7 from MSoft and reinstall - should repair your IE7.
Or try IE8 (in beta?)

I would suggest going Linux....there are a number of different flavours available and a couple I have tried recently (LinuxMint and Mandriva) are very easy to setup, even for wireless connections.
Look and feel is made very Windows-esque for newbies to be instantly comfortable with, only downside is if you are a games fanatic, lots of PC games have to have DirectX to run.
Got the newly released Fedora 9 to try now, just lucky I've more PC's than the wife knows about so I can play with all this stuff. ;)

I had the same problem with my new Laptop and Vista, i did exactly that what Jimbob said, got rid of Explorer and Downloaded Firefox.
My Problem stopped Instantly :y :y

I cured it last night :y
Here we go to you Vista users who are having the same problem...
Make sure you have no windows closed of so you just have your desktop on...
Click onto Start, Control Panel, Internet Options. Across the top click Advanced, at the bottom you will see Reset click it... :y
Go and see if it is cured ;)

Defo easiest way to solve problem, IE is shit.
Firefox is much more useful overall.

Its in English!!
IE7=Internet Explorer version 7
MSoft = Microsoft
IE8=Internet Explorer version 8 - Beta means not yet "retail" version
OK?????????????

I find Vista generally more stable, and faster (on the right hardware) than XP. IE7, love it or hate it, does appear more stable than IE6.
In this case, I suspect Loo-knee had downloaded an activex component that was crashing IE all the time (activex misbehaving is IE's achilles heel).
As for those proposing Linux, although Linux has a place (though not as Joe Public's desktop. Or as a server. Or anywhere really!), I think Loo-knee, no disrespect, would have a whole heap of trouble with it.
For those proposing Firefox - yup, not a bad browser, probably the 'best of the rest' overall, use it if you prefer it. Just be aware it has more bugs than MI5, and because of its popularity now, is a target. 18% of hits to OOF are FF, though sadly, 4% of those are running old, vulnerable versions.

Looks like Loo-Knee has sorted it :y
