The 'Hedgehog' resistor needs replacing :y

It lives in the fan assembly behind the passenger glovebox iirc...

Have a search through the maintenance guides section on here for the how to :y

Correct, glove box out and hedgehog clipped in high up on right hand side behind glovebox.

And clean and clear your scuttle drains as the standard cause is these being blcoked resulting in water in the ducting and a bath for the speed controller mentioned.

Thanks for all your advice.
Situation now is,glove box out and sore hands and back >:(
Still cant see the resistor although have seen on Google what it looks like.
Any clues as to where it can be hiding; behind a cover, in the fan motor housing?
Help;
Thanks all, Richard.

Thanks again to you all.
Pleased to say that I have now found and removed the resistor, on the left of the space behind glovebox, right up in the left hand corner!!!
This car now has over 300,000 k on the clock but still drives perfectly and after over 3 years of ownership, I have no idea with what I could replace it.
Vaue for money;3000 euros 3 years ago, could not be beaten!!
Bye for now.
Richard.

Have you got a replacement resistor? (aka the hedgehog  ;)) I would think that it would be cheaper to get a second hand part shipped over to you from one of the breakers here rather than buy a new one from Opel.

Thanks again to all for your help.
Yes; went to the local Opel dealer and was quoted 250 euro's.
Went online and bought through Ebayfr for 55 euro's
Thought I would try an old trick I have used on other electronic parts, computors etc; and popped it into the freezer over night.
this AM, fitted old part back in; works perfectly!!
May be only short term but at least in this very hot French weather, I am able to drive in comfort.
Thanks again.
Richard
