The second one looks pretty close. not sure what the V angle is, but it's got the staggered crank journals that suggest it's a narrow angle engine. Looks to have some of the 54 degree DNA in it. Those cam chains, though <shudder>!

It's 60°, and designed to be anything from 2.8 to 4.0 litres :y
Think what you may about the cam chains, at least they're on the front of the block, rather than at the back :-\ which is where VW put them ;D
