I've noticed a some oil seeping from behind the crank case sensor, next to the oil filter housing, is this likely to be the cause of the oil leak or will it be coming from somewhere else? Does this just need tightening, or is there a seal that's required? What size torx socket will I need to tighten the torx bolt?

as Andy suggested on your other post ....... are you sure it's not from your cam cover?
No idea of which Torx socket ..... but there's not that many in a set to choose from ;) ;) :y

Pattern or OE gaskets?
If pattern, the answer is ..... probably ??? ;) ;) and were the breathers done when the gaskets were? If not ..... then yes.

Cranks sensor does have a seal/o ring on the sensor end. Could it have been nipped on fitting...?

From memory, the torx is E8... ...though I always take a selection with me so I guess it could potentially be E10.

I have thought in the past that mine was leaking always a little oil in that area I have changed the seal but no difference I think that it might be from the seal on the cannister body to block but as my oil level never seems to change between oil changes I live with it. Is it correct that Omegas do tend to leak a bit and we put up with it.

From memory, the torx is E8... ...though I always take a selection with me so I guess it could potentially be E10.

Don't they ever. Trying to think if I've seen a v engine that did NOT have an oil leak. Its surprising how many holes there are in the block that are sealed with sealant. I remain convinced they should be a gasket. Not a goo.

just pop off a HT lead and see if its covered in oil... that will tell you if your CC's are leaking :y
