Expensive for a car with no MoT :-\ budget for rocker covers, steering/suspension work and at least one tyre...
Good project car though :y
-
He has told me £400 as is or he will MOT it at buyers cost ;D
Gut feeling stay away Al?
I should have just bought a V6 in the first place ;D :D
-
If he is sooo confident that an Mot will be fine, then he should put it through...
Wouldn't pay much over £300250 max personally :-\
-
He offered to put it through but at my cost he said, thinks it just needs a tyre and rocker cover work but due to the distance it would be a huge gamble on my part I guess..
I'd be tempted to offer him what you said just over £300 as it is to be honest......... He's had it a while and can't sell it?? ??? ::)
-
Edited my last :y
Rocker gaskets could be as simple as not fitted properly, and while a new tyre will help with the MoT, it won't fix the cause of the wear....
-
I see where you are coming from Al, thanks for your thoughts :y
Prob due to the distance I will leave this one but I did like it because of the price, spec, leathers, and it was a 2003 for £400 :o
Or should I will insult the seller with a lower offer? ;D
-
If they want it sold, be worth an ask :y
-
I like your thinking Al ;) :y
-
Spoke to the chap this morning and he won't budge much, lowest he said is £400 as is :o
He's now put it on ebay £450 buy it now ::) ???
-
Wonder if this one could be better and what the problem is? Has an loss of oil issue, any ideas from description ?

Does sound like stem seals , had the same issue on my 2.0 . 16 stem seals replaced and jobs a good un :y A bit steep on price i would have thought for that though :-\
-
Steep price, That's what I thought tbh ::)
Is the repair an expensive fix inc parts ?
What's she worth ideally? :y
-
Ahhh i just seen the add says make off too :y If it was me i would offer £350 an budget for £2-300 for repair depending on how bad the seals are if it is that :-\ Best to have a look at it first and see how bad the smoking is :y
Second thoughts ;D If it was me id get a non smoker ::) Plenty out there cheap enough ..
-
Agreed I think lol ;D
-
Agreed both too expensive with those known faults, either of them £250-£300 at the most.

Well it's only last year that I bought my 3.0 Elite[a year 2000 f/l so 3 years older than this one]for £400 with 8 months test on it.To me a car without a M.O.T.is worth nothing more than scrap value.
