Title: abs, tc and service light

Every so often these lights light up and I lose a lot of power any suggestions guys?

OK, you need to get a decent code reader on the ABS, see whats in there.  If no codes stored, you may be looking at a replacement ECU.


ABS ECU, bugger, thats something else for the loss list, grrrrrr.

It might be a problem with the ABS Ecu.

I have had problems with these on a 2.5 V6 over the years. Some put the lights on the dash and the speedo worked fine . Other failures the speedo stopped working at the same time the lights came on the dash. One failure also affected the power steering(it became heavy).

I don't know much about the 2.6's but suspect that as they are aging they may well be susceptible to ABS ECU failing. It is a very fine wire inside the ECU that fails - not repairable by mere humans. Have a look in the maintenance guides. The fault and its cure is well documented. IF that is the problem I would recommend repair from someone like ECU repair in Nottingham or BBA Reman rather than a secondhand unit which will likely as not fail itself with more time.
